How I Help

I once had a client who would regularly ask me for a recipe or instruction manual for our work. The reality about personal growth, though, is that it’s not a linear or consistent process. It’s more like putting together a puzzle - we start with the frame, but beyond that, it varies. Some pieces are easy to place, others take more time and experimentation. A flexible, collaborative framework and gentle persistence is what I've found leads to success in this process.

Depending on where you are on your journey, the best way for us to work together varies (more on that in a bit). That said, there are a few universal elements – I generally work with my clients via phone, and between sessions I encourage my clients to find ways to apply and practice what we're working on. I don’t necessarily assign ‘homework’, but I am always ready with some ideas, suggestions, or resources to help a client focus in on a specific area if they want.

“Steve isn’t just going through the motions. He is truly invested in those who are willing to work hard, are open to change, and are willing to trust him to help with that process.”

The experience

I want all my clients to experience our conversations as a space where they get to be both who they truly are and where they actually are. They spend too much of their lives adapting or putting on a front, and this process works best when we don't have to perform and are allowed to just be.

What happens within that space? Well, it’s collaborative. You talk about what’s up for you, where you want to go, what’s in the way, and what you’ve been trying to do to make it happen. My role is to be a supportive guide helping you navigate successfully. I suppose you could say that I’m trying to be similar to that older family figure you knew you could talk to about anything. You know, the one who would give you the right mix of support, ideas, and the occasional kick in the butt when you needed it? (Do these family figures actually exist? I assume so, since I hear stories about them, but I didn’t have one of those growing up ... and I’m guessing you may not have, either. Regardless, that's what I'm going for.)

How this looks in practice is different with each client and in each session, but conceptually, that’s the experience I’m trying to create. The goal isn’t to fix you – because you're not broken – it’s to create a space where you can be fully yourself and get clarity about who you really are and what truly matters to you.”

"You possess the ability to interrogate your own privilege, which is rare. This made me feel that I was in a safe space. Your ability to reflect upon what you did and didn’t know was incredibly important, and frankly rather refreshing."

The Logistics

Over the years I’ve found a few structures that work well for different circumstances, and I’ve turned those into the below offerings. Calls are about an hour long. If asynchronous support is included, it's your choice whether it's via text message, email, or voice memos. (No carrier pigeons, sorry...)

If you're looking to dig deep and go as fast as possible, there’s the Diamond Package. (I’m joking. I can’t stand some of these ridiculous package names so many coaches use.) But, I know we need some kind of name, so let's call it The Intensive, maybe?

Anyway, with this offering, we’ll have 3 calls a month to do intensive work, and asynchronous support between calls is included as well. You'll also get mid-week check in prompts to help you maintain momentum. A three month minimum commitment is required, and a discounted rate is available for a six month commitment.

If you're looking to build sustainable momentum on your growth journey, The Essential package includes two calls a month and check-in prompts in-between for three months. Asynchronous support is also available as an add-on.

(Questionable jokes, 80's references, book, movie, and maybe even music recommendations are included with both packages at no extra charge, btw.)

There's no buttons to sign up for these packages, and that's by design. I've found that making sure it's a good fit and addressing any questions or concerns potential clients have before we jump in is essential for success. A free consultation call gives us a space to explore that. You’ll get a feel for how I work, we’ll talk about where you're stuck or struggling and what you'd like to get out of working together, and I'll answer any questions you have. No expectations or high-pressure sales tactics (well, no low-pressure ones either... I'd be a horrible car salesman.) Just a conversation to help you figure out what makes sense for you.

Alternately, if you're looking for help now, and you've got something you're feeling stuck on, my Compass Call offering might be a good fit for you. It’s a single 60-75 minute call where we’ll dig in to your current situation, figure out how and why you’re stuck, get some clarity about where you want to go, and build a plan to get you moving forward again. It's $175 and there's a money-back guarantee. But, I only offer four each month. You can learn more about it here.

"I can’t think of one time in the last two years that I didn’t walk away from a session with Steve without some gem of an insight. Old limiting patterns that have plagued me my entire life have finally begun to dissolve. At first, I wondered if the cost would be worth it. Looking back, I find it hard to overstate the value of those sessions."

"I am a far more confident person that has learned to accept myself more than I had ever hoped to do so when we started working together."
