Having a hard time and looking for help?

You don’t have to keep struggling - I’m here to help you create the life you really want to have.
Through counseling, you can learn how to change your life and overcome your current problems. Counseling is a lot more than you coming and talking to someone once a week. As I learn about your difficulties and the changes you want to make in your life, I’ll work closely with you to help you take action to bring about those changes and make them stick. I’ll do this through a combination of teaching, coaching, and support as we work together.

Even when things are so bad that you can barely get through the day, asking for help may be difficult. Perhaps you’re feeling embarrassed, or think that seeking help is a sign of weakness. Regardless of your current situation,
I’m not here to judge you - I’m here to help.

If you never learned the skills you need to manage stress or anxiety, have a happy relationship, or handle the other challenges life throws at you, it’s understandable that you’d be having a hard time - it’s not that different from trying to play piano when you’ve never taken any lessons. We don’t automatically know how to be happy and successful in our lives and relationships.

I usually see individual clients for a 45-50 minute session each week, but if a different session length and schedule works better for you, we’ll put together a plan to meet your needs - this might include shorter sessions, phone sessions, or other arrangements that fit for your situation. While I don’t take insurance, I can provide you with a monthly statement that you can submit to your provider for reimbursement if your coverage provides out of network benefits.

Potential clients sometimes wonder what theories or techniques I follow in my work. Each client is unique - so
the most important influence in my work is you, and the goals you have for improving your life and relationships. Family Systems theory, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy all influence my work with individuals, as does the writing of Terrence Real, Pia Mellody, Scott Miller, and Nathaniel Branden.

Let’s get down to the business of getting your life back on track - call or e-mail to set up an appointment today. Or, if you have any questions or concerns, I’d be happy to provide a confidential telephone consultation at no cost to you. I really enjoy helping people and I look forward to the chance to be of help to you.
